Taking the afternoon off

I took the most of the day off yesterday, which is a strange concept when I am unemployed. I did answer some emails, attended a conference call, and paid some invoices which all sounds like work. The fact is that I cannot do a whole lot while I wait for these licenses to come in. So this is not an update on my trying to start a business but just some thoughts on my day. We took off after lunch for Hollywood. Mom wanted to take the train even though it really was more expensive than driving. So since she paid for it we all went on the train. We went to Hollywood Blvd, saw some stuff and then went to MOCA in Little Tokyo and that is about it. We got home around 8PM and after a late dinner took the kids out to Yogurtland, Kim’s small addiction. We stayed up late talking and watching nonsense on TV. Zoe hooked up her netflix account to our Wii and she was browsing some cancelled TV shows (Kyle XY and Lost) Finally we dragged ourselves to bed. It was a surprisingly relaxed day and though we didn’t really do a whole lot it felt better than sitting on the couch at home. We really did spend a lot of time just sitting on the seats in the Metro train, but that oddly felt like an active activity. I guess since we don’t take a train very often it felt like more like an amusement attraction than transportation. While sitting next to my mom on the train I got hooked on her BookWorm app on her ipad. I even played it late into the night. I have to get off that train. We called Miranda around 12:30 to wish her happy birthday. It technically was the first in the US and it was 930 in the morning where she was at. She is still in France. We woke her up. She is now 18. France has been good for her becoming an adult. I looked at our bank account and it scared me. We are in trouble. I wish that thinking didn’t dominate my prayers. What am I going to do if this business doesn’t work? I am going to actually be using our savings to get it going. We could spend a lot longer unemployed if I didn’t use it. I am scared.
